On the 20th of May, 

Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) organized, together with EDP New, its first Workshop of the pre-pilot phase of the SMART2B project. This workshop was aimed at the directors and technicians of the foster homes, which will be the SCML pilot buildings. The workshop took place at SCML’s facilities in Lisbon and was attended by 40 people in total.

EDP New first presented the foundations of the project, its objectives and challenges in the area of energy efficiency and sustainability. Then SCML SMART2B team presented the bases of its educational methodology for implementing the energy sustainability program intended  to be developed with the end-users, the residents of the buildings. Afterward, each director of each foster home explained in detail the characteristics of the building, addressing its typology, residents and conditions.

Finally, EDP New and SCML teams held small focus groups, together with the directors and technicians of the foster homes, with the aim of sharing ideas on energy efficiency activities to be developed in the pilot phase of the project (Starting in January 2023) and some analysis of challenges and difficulties that may arise in the future.
